John Marshall began violin lessons at age ten and was trained as a classical violinist. His love of fiddle music has always been in balance with his serious music pursuits. Inspired by the TV show Hee Haw and Buck Owens’ fiddler, the incomparable Don Rich, John formed his first bluegrass band in high school. Two years later the same group, Smokewood, won first place in the instrumental combo division of the Hollywood Bowl Battle of the Bands. John later returned with the band to the Bowl as fiddle soloist in a Los Angeles Philharmonic American Music Concert. The concert inspired him to pursue further live performances mixing bluegrass and classical music. This resulted in the group performing as guest artists in numerous symphony pops concerts throughout the United States.

Andy Rau has been performing professionally since 1975. He began his career as the in-house banjo player at Knott's Berry Farm. Since that time, he has continued performing bluegrass and country music at venues such as Disneyland, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Sea World, Paramount Studios, Disney Studios and Burbank Studios. In the 90's, with the release of his CDs, On The Horizon, Different Man and Penny Moon, Andy began to receive airplay and recognition around the county as the extraordinary musician and songwriter that he is. His reputation got him well-deserved endorsements with The Deering Banjo Company, which resulted in several North American tours and artist spotlights in publications such as Acoustic Musician, Frets, Bluegrass Unlimited and Bass Player Magazine.

Evan Marshall, music arranger and mandolinist extraordinaire, possesses an uncanny mandolin technique, which the Raleigh-Durham Independent called “superhuman” and the Washington Post called “truly dazzling.”  The late Chet Atkins called him “one of the few great musicians of our time”; David Grisman put it simply: “The world’s fastest mandolinist.” Evan has toured extensively in the United States and Great Britain, appearing with a variety of artists, from the Los Angeles Philharmonic to Phil Everly. He has performed his unique classical mandolin style as featured solo artist with symphony orchestras across the nation. In 2004 Rounder Records released his solo recording, Evan Marshall is the Lone Arranger.
